ATTORNEY NORM PATTIS STEPS UP TO THE PLATE ON BEHALF OF TED TAUPIER!

Attorney Norm Pattis blogs on Ted Taupier as follows:
"Remind me next time I get a little ticked off about something a judge has done not to send an email to would-be supporters describing how one might sit outside the jurist's home, concealed, and fire a shot into a bedroom.
It just might get me arrested for breach of the peace; it ought not get me arrested for threatening.
Edward "Ted" Taupier is facing threatening charges in Middletown. He sent an email to a group of six folks about Judge Elizabeth Bozzuto's home, and a cemetery behind it, and a bullet. He never sent the email to the judge; he sent it to fellow travelers among aggrieved family court litigants..."

U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISION MAY HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON TED TAUPIER CASE!

According to Michelle Tuccitto Sullo of "The CT Law Tribune":

"A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in which the justices threw out a man's conviction for making threatening comments about his wife on Facebook is already having an impact in Connecticut.
Closing arguments in the trial of a man accused of threatening a family court judge via email had been scheduled for June 2. However, in light of the June 1 ruling in Elonis v. United States, Middletown Superior Court Judge David Gold granted a continuance in the Connecticut case to June 23. Torrington attorney Rachel Baird, who represents Edward Taupier, of Cromwell, said the continuance will give her an opportunity to file a brief on how the national ruling impacts her client's case. Taupier, 50, faces charges of threatening, disorderly conduct and breach of peace in connection with comments he allegedly made in an August 2014 email about Judge Elizabeth Bozzuto, the state's chief administrative judge for family matters.

"It is my position that the Elonis case will have a tremendous impact on Taupier's case," Baird said. The high court ruling states that "there must be a showing that a person intentionally made a statement to threaten, not that they made a statement and a person felt threatened."

"Otherwise, people will have to be very careful about what they say, because someone might take it the wrong way," Baird said.

Baird said her brief will cover the issue of what the prosecution must prove about her clients mental state in order to convict him of threatening. She said the prosecution must show that Taupier intended to threaten the judge and wasn't just being reckless with his words..."

CT MEDIA GROUP REPORTS U.S. SUPREME COURT REFUSES TO HEAR POLICE EXCUSES RE BOTCHED DRUG RAID!

Daniel Tepfer of the CT Media Group Reports as follows:

"The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal by the police departments of Easton, Monroe, Trumbull, Darien and Wilton who claim they should be protected from millions of dollars in civil rights claims arising from a 2008 SWAT raid that killed a Norwalk man and injured an Easton homeowner.
Wednesday’s ruling appears to clear the way for a federal jury to decide whether the police departments violated Ronald Terebesi’s constitutional rights when a heavily armed team smashed down his door, tossed stun grenades into his home and then fatally shot his houseguest, 33-year-old Gonzalo Guizan, as the two men were watching TV.
“This decision was a long time coming,” said Terebesi’s lawyer, Gary Mastronardi..."

Will this decision have an impact on the Ted Taupier case?  It sounds like a very similar situation.

CT SWAT TEAM STORMS HOUSE, REMOVES LEGALLY OWNED GUNS FROM TED TAUPIER, A FORMER BANKER WITH NO PRIOR CRIMINAL RECORD!

Journalist Raquel Okyay reports as follows:

"A Connecticut gun owner told Guns and Patriots that his civil rights were stripped from him by an anti-gun judicial branch and a soon-to-be ex-wife who is uncomfortable with him owning guns.

“This high risk SWAT team rolls in and takes all my guns,” said Edward F. Taupier the respondent in a two-year divorce action that has escalated to an all-out war. “It took two armadillo armored vehicles, 75 officers with weapons drawn, and 45 minutes to raid my house.”

THE SILENT EPIDEMIC: TED TAUPIER'S DEVASTATING ENCOUNTER WITH THE CORRUPT CT FAMILY COURT SYSTEM!

From "The Rebel Pundit", see the report below:

"Up until two years ago, Ted Taupier didn’t spend much time thinking about the meaning of his first, second, eighth, and fourteenth amendment rights, but as he’s watched all those rights disappear along with his parental rights, Taupier tells RebelPundit he’s had a first hand look at the cruelty of an unchecked and unaccountable court system."
