REP. WILLIAM TONG VIOLATES THE PUBLIC'S RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH!
No, he didn’t. He has the right to maintain decorum. Just as you can’t wear a “fuck the police” t-shirt or a bikini to court, you can’t wear sloganeering t-shirts while giving testimony. Get over it.
To my knowledge, people have been coming and giving testimony at the LOB for years wearing T-shirts. Judges are not immune the people's opinions regarding them whether spoken out loud or on a T-shirt. The LOB is a structure that is intended to house the Democratic process, and as such democracy should be allowed within its walls, in my opinion. The only lack of decorum I saw was Rep. Tong's rudeness towards the people who came to provide their testimony, and the improper characterizations of the family court victims in ways that were insulting and disrespected their experience.
He is maintaining decorum while not lifting a finger to stop the corruption. Not impressed. Pllus, I'm sure there are others who could maintain decorum without showing disrespect, i.e. gossiping and chatting while people are providing testimony.
The only one who showed disrespect was you and your band of "victims". Maybe it's time you move on with your life and become productive members of society.
No such thing as decorum to limit expression of a t shirt. Get a clue, court room is different than a public hearing. Tong Doyle and Kissel never cited a reference for their authority to force women to remove articles of clothing.
Prior restraint is un constitutional.
ReplyDeleteTong’s actions are criminal under federal law.
