MAY 19, 2014, AT 2:00 P.M. RULES COMMITTEE MEETING!

May 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., the Rules Committee of the Superior Court will conduct a public hearing in the Supreme Court in Hartford for the purpose of receiving comments concerning the following Practice Book revisions which are being considered by the Committee. The proposed revisions will be printed in the April 29, 2014, issue of the Connecticut Law Journal and will be posted on the Judicial Branch website at http://www.jud.ct.gov/pb.htm. The public hearing will be followed by a Rules Committee meeting in the Supreme Court.

Wheelchair access is located in the rear of the building, accessible from the staff parking lot between Lafayette and Oak Streets. There are a limited number of handicap parking spots in the gated staff lot, which is accessible from Oak Street. Use the intercom at the gate to speak to security about the availability of parking. Friday, May 9 Domestic Violence Advocate Training with Barry Goldstein and National Coalition Against Domestic Violence on how to help battered mothers involved in custody cases.
 
Saturday, May 10 Mothering Under Duress with Joy Silberg, PhD on how to effectively mother your children when they are forced to live with abusers. There will be a workshop with Mo Hannah PhD and a panel with Linda Marie Sacks and other mothers.
 
Activism
 
Sunday, May 11 Mothers of Lost Children March at the White House from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at 1600 Pennsylvania NW. Wear white clothing and good walking shoes, and bring a hat. Wear sunglasses and a wig as needed.  Mothers of Lost Children t shirts will be provided. 

 
Lobby Day 
 
Monday, May 12 Lobby Day at the House of Representatives on Independence Ave. Lobbying information and training will be provided at the conference on Saturday May 10.
We are working on having another Congressional Briefing to bring the family court crisis to the attention of our national elected representatives.

The formal BMCC is skipping a year, so this is a mini BMCC.  There is no fee. We will collect cost to cover lunch costs when you get to the conference. We will need to make our own arrangements for lodging. The International Hostel and the William Penn House are centrally located and inexpensive hostels. Travelocity, Priceline and Cheaphotels have more information on places to stay near George Washington University.

Meet Me in DC. January 9-10, 2013. This is the ONLY official event for Lawless America in Washington, DC in January 2013.
 
We hope to have at least one constiutuent for every member of Congress to hand-deliver the 35+ hours of Congressional testimony filmed by Lawless America. There will be a visit to The Washington Post, a Phil Donahue-like presentation to invited members of Congress and the media, more filming for Lawless America...The Movie, and filming for "Love Letters to Our Children" (messages to children stolen from parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, etc.).

EVENTS

January 8, 2013 -- For those arriving on January 8, we will have a meeting room at the Crowne Plaza National Airport Hotel where folks may come to pick up their packages to be delivered to their members of the House and Senate. We will also have multiple rooms set up at this hotel to do additional filming for the movies.
 
January 9, 2013 - 10:00 am -- We will begin distributing envelopes to each member of Congress containing the DVD with the Congressional Testimony filmed by Lawless America in all 50 states. Each attendee is asked to make an appointment with the office of your Representative and Senator. Addiitonal filming will be done at the hotel throughout the day and evening.
 
January 9, 2013 -- afternoon and/or early evening -- We will conduct a Phil Donahue-style event in which the Lawless America Nobodies will be seated in an auditorium and invited members of Congress and the media will be seated on stage. We will deliver our presentation from the auditorium seats.
 
January 10, 2013 -- We will visit The Washington Post en masse to ask for an audience with the editor-in-chief if The Washington Post fails to provide coverage of the event. We may visit other media outlets as well. Addtional filming will be done at the hotel throughout the day and evening.
 
PLEASE NOTE that another group has been advertising that it is producing a Lawless America educational panel. That group is not assosiated with Lawless America.

We will be filming for the movie throughout the Meet Me in DC event. There will be multiple camera crews at work.
