Joan describes the biggest problem women face in the family courts at the core of cases labeled high conflict. The family courts have facilitated and allowed the courthouse to be the abuser's last battleground against the victim. The courts have become biased against women in domestic violence cases perhaps due to the HHS funding uncovered by Anne Stevenson.
