THE DAY REPORTS GOVERNOR PROPOSES MAJOR CHANGES TO CT JUDICIAL BRANCH IN UPCOMING BUDGET PLANS!

Karin Florin of The Day reports as follows,

"Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s budget would remove more than 1,508 positions and about $260 million (approximately half of the Branch's budget) in annual funding from the Judicial Branch, which operates state courts, and place them into agencies within the Executive Branch.

Under the plan, 755 positions in juvenile probation, juvenile residential services and family services would transfer from the Judicial Branch’s court support services division to the Department of Children and Families.

The Department of Correction would assume adult probation services and the alternative incarceration program, a total of 753 positions.

The Court Support Services Division would retain 339 positions including bail commissioners, pre-trial intake services support enforcement and victim services..."

ANOTHER FUN ATTORNEY JOKE!

A snake had the misfortune to be blind, and although he managed to forage successfully, he was very lonely. So he was delighted to make the acquaintance of a little mole--which was very nearly blind as such creatures are -- who offered to be his friend.

They got together almost every day, and finally the snake mustered up his courage to ask the mole a question. "We have become dear friends, and yet I have no idea what you look like" he pointed out. "Would you mind if I coiled myself around you very gently so I could get an image of you?"

"Not at all." replied the mole graciously, and soon found himself in the center of a mountain of snake.

"Why, you are soft and furry, with a pointy little nose surrounded by bristly whiskers! Could it be that you are a mole?" hissed the snake.

"I am, indeed." answered the mole. "And you--you are cold and slimy and are covered with scales and have no balls."

"Sssssshit!" hissed the snake, "I must be a lawyer."

"Where is justice for Jaxaon-Navarro-Gilmore, Return Jaxon-Navarro-Gimore Home To His Grandmother Jessica Navarro-Gilmore, Jaxon has been away from his loving home for almost a year. At 19 months old he has medical disabilities his grandmother has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing science, giving her the ability to properly care for her grandson that she loves and adores. Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) Manchester office is preventing her from caring for her grandson. Two years ago she was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after the sudden and tragic loss of her daughter. Her condition in no way affects her ability to care for Jaxon as she already has custody of her granddaughter with the approval of the same (DCF) office that is blocking her from having Jaxon home with her in a loving caring family environment..."

IN HARTFORD COURANT OP-ED, LENORE SKENAZY SPEAKS OUT AGAINST OVER SUPERVISING OUR CHILDREN!

Lenore Skenazy speaks out in the pages of The Hartford Courant as follows:

"Two Maryland parents stand accused of doing the unthinkable: They trusted their kids, 10 and 6, to walk home from the park. The children got about halfway there when someone saw them and called the cops.

For this, parents Danielle and Alexander Meitiv have been visited by the police and child protective services. Their kids were interviewed at school, without their consent. CPS even threatened to take their children away.

All because we are having a hysterical moment in American society. We believe children are in danger every single second they are unsupervised.

I learned this firsthand six years ago, when I let my 9-year-old ride the subway alone (we live in New York). I wrote a column about it. Two days later I found myself decried as "America's worst mom" on the "Today" show, MSNBC, Fox News and NPR..."
